Harnessing renewable energy’s full potential through superior grid systems (Video)

CellCube’s energy storage systems are setting a new standard for longevity and performance.

CellCube Energy Storage Systems Inc. (CSE: CUBE) focuses on the fast-growing energy storage industry which is driven by the massive increase in demand for renewable energy. The company develops, manufactures and markets energy storage systems with the underpinning proprietary vanadium redox flow technology. The company has over 136 project installations worldwide and a 10-year operational track record.

Keith Schaefer: Hi, I’m Keith Schaefer, and you’re watching Market One Minute. Today, I’m here with Stefan Schauss from CellCube Energy Storage Systems. Welcome, Stefan.

Stefan Schauss: Thank you, Keith.

Keith Schaefer: Energy storage right now is a big buzz word in investor’s minds, private equity, the brokerage firms. So, why is now the time for energy storage systems?

Stefan Schauss: Look, Keith, renewable energy has been on the forefront and has been built up in major grid systems. We’re hitting now a critical threshold in the stability of grid systems, and as such, we can move forward only when we use large amounts of energy storage systems, in order to give quality power to the consumption level.

Keith Schaefer: And that’s what you make. You make large energy storage systems.

Stefan Schauss: That’s correct. We make large energy storage systems, and these storage systems are superior over other technologies in the perception because our systems have a newfound standard in the longevity of the product life, and in the performance characteristics that we see from our new generation products.

Keith Schaefer: So Stefan, your new FB250 product for energy storage, how is that an improvement on what you’ve been using up until now?

Stefan Schauss: Yeah. Keith, the new generation that we are currently just preparing to launch, it will be available within the second quarter of 2019 for purchase and volume production, we are totally excited. The new product entails a major performance improvement, and we are now on par, or exceeding actually, the expectations in the energy storage world.

Not only on this technology, but also on the other technologies out there, like the lithium characteristics. The new products here is a product family of three units: the FB250 1000, 1500, and 2000. Now, what does this mean? Ready out of the box we are delivering three modules with which you can build all types of replications and these three modules are four, six, and eight hours long energy storage capacity. This means that for four, six, or eight hours you can have all your supply needs covered by this energy storage system.

Keith Schaefer: So Stefan, your energy storage system would compare how to lithium?

Stefan Schauss: Yeah, this is a very valid question, and the answer is that we do compare very favorably, but we are distinct in that matter that we solve different aspects of the energy storage infrastructure. We are the long duration guys, we bulk large energy time shifting between midday peak coming from solar, to into the afternoon-evening hours then, to displace that energy at that time. We are vanadium-based energy storage systems, and this has completely different characteristics than lithium, and with this vanadium, we have a 30-year product life, which is more rivaling a conventional thermal power infrastructure, rather than a short-term lithium energy storage system that lasts for 10 years.

At the same time, we have higher degrees of capacity retention. In fact, we have no capacity degradation whatsoever in our systems, and that is something that makes it a very bankable asset for a utility grid, and a utility-oriented asset owner, who wants to derive revenue streams out of this asset for a very long time.

Keith Schaefer: Stefan, tell us about your pipeline of sales.

Stefan Schauss: See, our pipeline is really growing by leaps and bounds every day. We get such a tremendous interest from utilities, from independent power producers, from renewable developers on a daily basis, and we are very excited about this. We can hope that we can serve everybody well, and we are hence adjusting our pipeline every day.

Keith Schaefer: Stefan, what do you see having a positive impact on your share price this year? What news for investors?

Stefan Schauss: Look, as an investor of course what you would want to see is an increase in sales, we can definitely deliver on this. We’re looking at our short-term outlook to announce sales that are coming through, and we are on the midterm range we will execute on our pipeline, execute on our market reach, and I think this is definitely what will be appreciated by our shareholders.

Keith Schaefer: Thanks for joining us today, Stefan.
